Legal basis — Law 36/1995
Law 36/1995 on notarial activity mandates professional secrecy for all notarial data. Notarial respects this principle by design: data never leaves the notary's machine.
The API has no access to cases, clients, documents, or D208 declarations.
GDPR: client personal data is stored exclusively on the notary's device; no cloud processing.
We use no tracking cookies — analytics is cookieless (Plausible).
Operational Resilience
Works Offline
After initial OCR setup (~200 MB, once), the app works fully offline.
7-Day Grace Period
License is validated locally for 7 days without connection. Work normally even without internet.
Automatic Daily Backup
Daily database copy on startup. Manual .zip export from Settings. Restore with preview.
What If Notarial Disappears?
The data remains yours. The database is a standard, open SQLite file. You can access data with any SQLite tool.
Open exports. PDFs, XMLs, and .zip backups are standard formats, not proprietary.
Permanent read-only mode. Without a license, the app stays in read-only mode — data is always accessible, export always works.
SQLite format. The notarial.db database can be opened with DB Browser for SQLite, sqlite3 CLI, or any compatible tool.
